My series of Christmas interviews continues with Belinda, a vivid traveler and marketer from Luxembourg!
Belinda, tell us more about your universe – did you always live in Luxembourg?
Hey Bianca! First of all, thank you so much for having me featured in your magazine.
I am originally from India and relocated to Luxembourg in 2016 with my husband who works here for a tech company. Luxembourg has given me so many great things, so I can proudly call it is my second home now.
Which is your favorite car? Tell us about it!
So, this is an interesting story. We bought our first car together ‘Fiat 500’ from Autopolis Luxembourg during the auto festival. I cannot tell you how amazing the experience was from having the test drive to the delivery of the car. I always have dreamt of having a car which will be compact, super-efficient with its technology (automatic transmission & therefore stress-free), but also a car which would have a history of its own. Our cute powder-pink Fiat 500 tick marks all the boxes that I had in my mind. We have already made such super memories in the car and has traveled to more than 4 countries. Overall, my experience with Cinquecento and Autopolis both are amazing, and I look forward to creating more beautiful with this car.
Can you tell us more about your culture? How do you celebrate the period of Christmas and New Year?
India is truly defined as “Unity in Diversity”. While Dussehra may be the biggest Hindu festival, we have equally festive Christmas too – and mind you, not only limited to Christians! When I was in India, Christmas and New Years’ time meant our close family would gather, go for picnics, and to Church. Many Bollywood movies release during this time, so we would go to the theatres to check those out.
After moving to Luxembourg, I can say I enjoy this holiday season more here. I have a big artificial tree from Auchan which I redecorate with a new theme every year, and of course, the best part is having gluhwein and gromperekichelcher in the Christmas markets.
Can you suggest 3 places in Luxembourg where we can go on a road trip?
It is definitely a difficult question as I love each part of this country so much. But if I must choose, then I will go for –
- Along the roads of Remich, which offers stunning views down across the valley, over the river, and into Germany.
- Mullerthal region of the country where we can watch as the landscape changes from rows of vines to dense woodland, aiming for the town of Larochette.
- And lastly, along the majestic castle of Vianden.
Esch-sur-sure lake and Urspelt castle up in the north at Clervaux would have been honorable mentions at 4 and 5 if allowed 🙂
And to end this interview singing, which are the 3 most beautiful songs from your culture?
- Yeh Haseen Wadiyaan (“these beautiful valleys”) by Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman
- Roop Tera Mastana (“you look delightful”) by Kishore Kumar
- Lag Jaa Gale (“embrace me”) by Lata Mangeshkar
Thank you, Belinda, for accepting to be featured on arcticswan.com!
